To my very valued Canadian customers.  This site is priced in USD because it was built at a time when the US dollar was actually lower than the Canadian dollar.  Currently there is a large premium on US dollars and it is NOT our intention to over charge Canadian customers.  Therefore we will look at each Canadian sale and once our costs have been calculated we will refund a portion of the purchase to compensate - in part for the currency exchange.  Please don't expect a full refund based on the difference between the currencies as there are other factors at play.

If You sign up for any newsletter,  promotional offer or information from Zen Garden Bonsai or ANY site operated by LAC Marketing- you have my personal assurance that we will not sell, rent, loan, give or share your email address or information with anyone for any purpose.  If you are signed onto a mail list I can further promise you that we will not swamp you with unwanted emails. We have email too and know how disrespectful it is to over mail.  Our limit is a maximum of three mailings in any 2 month period to any single email address.  You are, of course, free to unsubscribe at any time you choose, with our thanks for your patronage.

Privacy Statement

For each visitor to our Web page, our Web server automatically recognizes no information regarding the domain or e-mail address. We collect the e-mail address of those who communicate with us via e-mail, aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit, user specific information on what pages consumers access or visit and information volunteered by the consumer, such as survey information and/or site registrations.

The information we collect is used for internal review and is then discarded, used to improve the content of our Web page, used to customize the content and/or layout of our page for individual consumer and used by us to contact consumers for marketing purposes.

You understand and agree that the owners of this site shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or exemplary damages, including but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, data or other intangible losses (even if the owners of this site have been advised of the possibility of such damages), resulting from the use or the inability to use the product(s) and or service(s) or any misuse of the product(s) and or service(s) in a manner not in accordance with their intended use.

 Shipping  USA and Canada

Our trees are shipped by UPS  and / or FedEx ground and will arrive within 5-10 business days of your payment - usually sooner. They are living and fragile and all require special handling.   

US products Shipped to Canada.  

By default birdbaths, garden accessories and stained glass shipping are not enabled for Canada, but shipping is possible.  If there is something you really want, please let me know, but please note that cross border shipping can be quite expensive and you will likely also pay the extra costs of brokerage, duties and of course the HST.

Still, I understand how it feels to finally find what you're looking for and have someone say you can't have it without any possibility to argue, so if you want something other than a tree or a birdhouse feeder (which I cannot move across the border) shipped into Canada - contact me and I'll help you set it up.

CANADA

  The weights shown for Canadian Bonsai are not the actual weight of the tree.  They are our best estimate of the "Dimensional Weight" ( based on the box size for shipping) Transit times for Canada at 5-10 Business Days. Should you feel that the shipping cost is excessive, please contact us and we will double check it for accuracy.

US & CANADA

We generally avoid shipping on Friday as the trees will automatically be sitting in a truck for 2 extra days - not a great thing.  We will endeavor to provide you with tracking information, but if you don't get it, please contact us.

During the winter months, there will be shipping delays - We cannot put a tropical or sub tropical tree in a truck for 3 days when the temperature is too low. Some of our outdoor trees need to be held in a dormant condition and cannot be shipped in the winter. We will inform you promptly if there is any shipping delay and offer you options including to accept delivery when the conditions are safe, to change trees or to claim a full and immediate refund.

In Canada,unless we're shipping a Juniper a very short distance, no trees are going to be shipped from Mid November until March.  Yes!  I know, it really hurts my (Non Existent) Christmas and Valentine sales- I wish there was a way around it, but nothing really says you got coal for Christmas or " I love you" like unwrapping a dead tree- Not gonna happen.

Return Policy

We want you to be completely satisfied with your choice from Zen Garden Bonsai.  Please check your order immediately upon arrival. Trees will likely need watering.  If your order arrives damaged, please notify us immediately and we will arrange to have it inspected, and then either refund your money 100% or put it towards the purchase of a replacement - your choice.

If for some reason you change your mind about your bonsai, please notify us immediately on receipt.  We will accept returns when we hear from you within 24 hours of delivery. There is significant prep required for a tree and a high risk of damage during shipment and therefore a 30% restocking fee for returns. The cost of shipping is NOT refundable.  Return shipping is at your expense.

Bonsai are living trees and we cannot assume responsibility for the tree once it passes into your care.

Damaged Goods Policy

See return policy. Notify us immediately. Once the  shipper has inspected shipment and confirmed damage, your refund will either be issued or if you wish applied to the price of a new tree.

Backorder & Substitution Policy

During the coldest parts of the year, it may not be safe to ship some of our indoor trees. We'll let you know when that happens and give you options to either wait until it's safe to ship, order a different tree or refund your full purchase price immediately.

Because some of our inventory is one of a kind, it is possible that the tree you select may have already been purchased. We do our best to maintain the site with the most current possible inventory but these situations will arise from time to time.

If this happens we will offer you a replacement tree, which will be the same variety and comparable shape and value. We will send you a picture of the suggested replacements and if you are in agreement with our suggestion, we will make the change.

If you are not in agreement, we will IMMEDIATELY refund 100% of your purchase, with our sincere apologies.

Finally- Not all of our trees are one of a kind!  Many greenhouses will only ship "Like" trees, meaning they try to match the age, size and basic style.  If you have any questions, email and ask.
