The juniper, which is commonly trained into a bonsai, is a shrub often found in mountains about 3,000 feet above sea level. Of all the bonsai, this is often admired because of its shapely outline and its forgiving nature. An outdoor bonsai it is naturally hardy in zones 4-8.
