Japanese Black Pine Bonsai Tree (pinus thunbergii) The Japanese Black Pine is native to some coastal regions of Japan or Korea where is is becoming endangered due to the introduction of the North American pine nematode..This very popular 2-needled species is easily distinguished from all other Pines by its large, candle-like buds which are silvery white and very showy.The Japanese Black Pine which can reach heights of 40 feet in it's native range. They must be kept out of doors and is rated hardy in zones 4-8 , but in colder regions, protect these tree in the winter. Customers recommend the Chinese Elm Bonsai tree or choose another decidious bonsai 8-10 years old 10-11 " tall As of December 17/09 we can no longer guarantee that your order will arrive by Christmas.
