Chinese elm have small evergreen leaves, excellent branching characteristics and trucks that will age very nicely.
Keep evenly moist with good light The chinese elm is very hardy - from zones 4-9 in their natural state although you must give bonsais extra winter protection. These trees are strong, fast growers, tolerate transplanting quite well. Resistant to Dutch Elm Disease
