Also known as the Banyan fig. Beautiful easy to grow relative of the well known Benjamina has distinctive trunk and small glossy leaves. Also known as Tiger Bark Ficus because the bark can take on a striped appearance.
The ficus is an ideal bonsai for just about any level of enthusiast. They will tolerate low light but do wonderfully in really good light conditions and like being taken outside for the summer but be very carefully to start them in good shade and gradually move them to where they'll get better morning light - keep out of the afternoon sun!!
Ficus should be kept on the damp side - but again this forgiving tree will tolerate both over and under watering.

This tree is 10 years old - 15 " high with a 15" spread

Keep evenly moist in good light.
