Pyracantha - Firethorn

If you're gardening where it doesn't get really cold in the winter, you can keep this Pyracantha bonsai outdoors and enjoy the look of the beautiful berries on the tree through the season. If it's colder where you live, you can still enjoy this bonsai, but kept in a cool spot indoors to overwinter. This Firethorn bonsai is trained in an upright position and if you're not looking for a present for yourself, will make a unique gift idea for the gardener on your list.
Pyracantha augustifolia is only hardy to about 5 degrees C or 28 F Pyracantha coccinea is hardier but in a bonsai pot, both should be heavily protected in the winter.
