Crape myrtle (lagerstroemia indica)
Originally from China and Korea, it is an ornamental deciduous shrub of great charm. A particularly interesting feature is the smooth, light brown trunk that is mottled when it is mature. this outdoor bonsai is hardy to zones 7-9 - so good winter protection is needed. The flowers of the crape myrtle are similar in appearance to a lilac. This shrub is
a rapid grower that prefers good like and moist but well drained soil
